In our quest to be the hub for sustainable building materials McGovern & Co visited Kenoteq in East Lothian, Scotland to see how they are tackling the critical issues of waste reduction and shortage of construction materials.
Kenoteq manufacture the K-Briq™ a world-first sustainable brick. With a cost of production comparable to traditional clay bricks and availability in a range of six colours we wanted to go and get the inside track.
The McGovern team of Andrew Pickersgill, Grant Macdonald and Steve Ruddick were welcomed by Kenoteq Managing Director, Dr Sam Chapman who provided a guided tour of the Kenoteq facilities and a breakdown of how they're aiming to deliver three million bricks in 2022.
We are really excited about these new sustainable bricks and will be showing them to customers via sample panels built in our yard soon. Watch this space for more details.
It was also a great opportunity to let Grant take out the Ferrari 456GT company pool car!
