McGovern & Co were invited down to York Handmade Bricks recently to meet Alun Nixon and Mark Laksevics for a tour of their manufacturing facility. Based in Alne just North of York they have been making bricks there for over 70 years.
Since 1988 when the company was established, they have spent nearly £2million in building and maintaining the most up-to-date facilities for producing beautiful and individual, handmade bricks.
Andrew Pickersgill, Managing Director of McGovern & Co said "having worked with York Handmade for a few years it's always great to come and see the tradition of making handmade bricks. Alun & Mark's knowledge is second to none and they have been great hosts today, even allowing us to bring a guest who got to make his very own brick!".
